Katie O’Kelly is a playwright and actor. She most recently premiered her adaptation of James Joyce’s Dubliners short stories, Dubliners Women (national tour). Previously she wrote and performed her solo play about Palestine, The Olive Tree (Ireland and HIFA Festival, Zimbabwe), Counter Culture (national tour and Edinburgh Fringe Festival), Mirror, Mirror, Off the Wall (Ireland). Katie has also toured extensively with the solo show JOYCED! written by Donal O’Kelly, for which she was nominated for The Stage Award for Acting Excellence (Solo Performer Category) at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (national tour, Norway, Finland, UK).  As an actor, she performed multiple roles in the critically acclaimed A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man (Ireland, UK), Ledwidge (TNT National Tour), Hamlet (AC Productions), King Lear,  Romeo and Juliet (Smock Alley National Tour) and Lockout (The New Theatre).

Katie is a graduate of the Drama and Theatre Studies BA from Trinity College Dublin and Goldsmiths College London. She is one of the organisers of PalFest Ireland, a lively, cultural arts festival organised by Irish Artists in solidarity with the people of Palestine.
